Mike: ...and then the laser unlocked!
Alice: Oh no!
Ashley: Ooh! That was a good one! My turn now!

Ashley: There once was a grad student who never came in to the lab on Sundays.
Ashley: And his advisor had one of the other grad students tell him, "We're expected to work in the lab on Sundays. If you don't, bad things can happen to you."
Alice: Ooh, I like where this story is going.

Ashley: The next Sunday, the grad student still didn't show up to the lab. So the advisor fired him. (The laser he broke didn't help).
Mike: Okay, but what are the bad things that could happen to him?
Ashley: I'm gettin' to that!

Ashley: Having been kicked out of the lab, this poor grad student SWITCHED TO THEORY!
Mike: The horror!!!
Ashley: Oh, and he graduated in like three years.
